✨ How to Apply Press-Ons Like a Pro

Want your set to look and last like a salon mani? It all comes down to prep and technique.

Step 1: Prep Your Natural Nails

Clean, dry nails are a must. Push back your cuticles, nip any excess skin (optional), and lightly buff the surface of your natural nails to remove shine.

Wipe each nail with rubbing alcohol and/or a nail dehydrator to eliminate any oils.

Step 2: Find Your Perfect Fit

Our press-ons come pre-shaped and pre-filed—no need to trim the tips!

Choose the sizes that fit from sidewall to sidewall. If the cuticle edge doesn’t match your natural shape, gently file underneath at a 30° angle to customize the fit.

Step 3: Etch the Underside

This step is everything! Use a small brush dipped in acetone to scrub the underside of the press-on nail—just the part that will contact your natural nail.

This removes shine and creates texture for the glue to grip onto, which helps extend wear time.

Step 4: Apply the Glue

Apply a small dot of glue to your natural nail and the inside of the press-on. Less is more—just enough to cover the center.

Then press the nail on, starting at the cuticle and pressing downward to avoid air bubbles.

Step 5: Hold & Let It Set

Hold each nail firmly for 10–20 seconds to allow the glue to bond.

🕒 Yes, glue has a dry time—so avoid water, steam, oil, or lotions for at least 1 hour after applying.

The longer you wait, the better the hold.

🎨 How to Elevate Your Press-On Look

➤ Add Nail Stickers

Apply vinyl nail stickers directly onto the press-ons (before or after applying) for easy nail art. Use a top coat to seal everything in.

➤ Mix & Match Designs

Blend different press-on sets or accent nails for a completely customized look.

➤ Play with Finishes

Add a glossy, matte, or velvet top coat to change the finish—or make your press-ons last even longer.

➤ Get Seasonal or Themed

Customize your look with press-ons that match the season, a holiday, or your outfit—just switch them out when you’re ready for a new vibe.

🧤 Pro Tips for Long-Lasting Wear

Etch the inside of the press-on with acetone—don’t skip this step!

Only file the cuticle edge if needed—the tips are pre-filed and ready to wear.

Use gloves for chores like dishes, cleaning, or anything involving water.

Avoid water and oils for at least an hour after application.

Re-glue lifted corners immediately to prevent full pop-offs.

Store your press-ons in a clean, dry case between wears to reuse them.

♻️ Yes, Vinyluxe Press-Ons Are Reusable

One of the best things about our press-ons? You can reuse them—as long as you remove them gently and correctly.

We recommend soaking in warm soapy water or using a gentle, oil-based remover. Never force or pry them off, as that can damage both the press-on and your natural nail.

How to Remove Press-Ons Without Damage

Once your press-ons are clean and dry, just re-etch the underside with acetone before reapplying. Good as new!
