Make Your Own Press-On Nail Remover (Reusable-Friendly & Non-Acetone)
Share
If you love press-ons but hate the damage that traditional removers can cause, you’re not alone. Whether you’re between orders or just love a good DIY, here’s how you can make your own gentle, reusable-friendly press-on remover at home. Bonus: it’s acetone-free and doubles as nail care!
Why Go DIY?
Our press-on nails can be reused again and again—if you remove them carefully. This DIY remover softens the glue without stripping your natural nails or damaging the press-ons, so you get more wears per set and healthier nails in the long run.
DIY Press-On Nail Remover Recipe (10ml Bottle)
• 4ml non-acetone nail polish remover
• 2ml isopropyl alcohol (70%)
• 2ml jojoba oil
• 1ml olive oil or sweet almond oil
• 1ml glycerin (optional, for hydration)
• 1–2 drops vitamin E oil or essential oil (optional for scent and nourishment)
Instructions:
Mix all ingredients into a 10ml dropper bottle. Shake well before each use. Store in a cool, dry place.
How to Use It:
1. Apply around the base and under your press-ons using the dropper.
2. Wait 10–15 minutes (wrap in foil for faster results).
3. Gently lift with a wooden stick—don’t force!
4. Remove leftover glue with a soaked pad, or let it dry and file off gently.
5. Wash your hands and let press-ons dry before storing.
Pro Tip:
For best results, avoid acetone and store your press-ons carefully between uses. Want more tips for making your mani last? Check out this guide on how to remove and reuse press-ons.
